# TraceDB

TraceDB is an AI-native transactional candidate-stream database: one logical
record, one commit epoch, many native query views, and explainable candidate
ranking without syncing data into separate search, vector, graph, and metadata
stores.

v0.1.1 is the Hosted Alpha documentation lane and staged SDK-surface release.
The canonical API contract is `platform-contract-v0` from `tracedb-protocol`,
rendered here as the Fern API reference. The TypeScript, Python, and Rust SDK
surfaces are staged through standalone package repositories and Fern pull
requests; public package promotion waits for v1 readiness rather than being
claimed here.

## What Is In v0.1.1

* Local and embedded TraceDB runtime semantics.
* HTTP `/v1` API routes for health, readiness, schema, records, query, GraphQL,
  TraceQL, and admin operations.
* Fern-generated API reference from the OpenAPI contract.
* Staged SDK package identities at v0.1.1 for `@tracedb/sdk`, `tracedb`, and
`tracedb-sdk`; public package promotion waits for v1 readiness.
* `tracedb-go` remains a reserved/candidate SDK repository until the Go repo,
registry evidence, and platform-contract surface agree that it is supported.
* Hosted Alpha documentation for invite-only TraceDB Cloud, scoped API keys,
managed routing, and gateway authorization boundaries.

## Product Boundaries

The public database distribution and the hosted control plane are separate
products. The downloadable runtime owns data semantics, storage formats, query
behavior, SDK protocol behavior, and self-hostable storage interfaces.

The hosted control plane owns invites, organizations, quotas, scoped API keys,
operator workflows, and provider-specific deployment coordination. Hosted Alpha
is not a general-availability SLA, managed disaster-recovery claim, or public
benchmark claim.

Start with the [Hosted Alpha](/start/hosted-alpha) and
[Quickstarts](/start/quickstarts) pages, then use the API reference for exact
request and response shapes.
